5 Valentine’s Day Outfit Picks

Whether you have that perfect someone to spend Valentine’s day with or not, you deserve to splurge on yourself! While my special someone happens to be dinner with my best friend, I still plan on rocking a great look!

I’ve never really been into Valentine’s Day, I am one of those people that believe I should be treated amazing every day and not just one day of the year (and of course vice versa). I’ve decided this V-Day is about loving myself and those who have been by my side every step of the way instead!

My best friend has been my rock for 15 years and I am SO proud of the women we have become over the past year. So its time to celebrate our love of ourselves and our friendship, to celebrate the challenges we have faced and overcome by each others’ sides, and to look forward to our futures. Sure we may be single, but loving yourself is the first step into being able to truly love others when it comes to a relationship. SO Happy I love Me Day- I’ll be rocking a Garish Gal Dress and my favorite heels.

1. Pleated Midi Skirt– A lot of readers have asked how to wear a midi skirt without aging your look. Finding a great midi skirt can be challenging! If you aren’t sure about the whole idea, spending a lot of money on a trendy skirt doesn’t seem logical. However, instead you can grab our version of this skirt at a MUCH better price. Tibi has a great midi skirt, but the price is at bank breaking status. At Garish Gal, we were looking for a great, comparable piece that doesn’t leave you without grocery money for the next month or two.

2. Jogger Pants– The athletic trending jogger pants have become a fall/winter staple this season. BB Dakota has a great, budget friendly version that is easy to wear and extremely comfortable. Current/Elliot has a couple of pairs in their current collection that are a little more pricey, so grabbing the BB Dakota pair is a no brainer.

3. Pleather Shift Dress– This is one of my favorite dresses in my closet. I literally wear it all the time. In warmer weather I throw on a pair of heels and wear it to dinner. Since the Midwest chill has set in, I usually throw on tights, a cardigan, and a scarf to warm up my look (like pictured below). 4. Envelope Skirt– I love this update to the pencil skirt. Still work appropriate, but also sexy- this skirt is a great wardrobe add. Alexander Wang has a beautiful blue envelope skirt that the model is casually wearing. This skirt body is great because it can be worn to work, or worn as a casual look. Alexander Wang has a similar version that will cost you a pretty penny to test out this trend.

Fall Must Haves: Pencil Skirt

Pencil Skirts are work wear must haves- not just fall must haves!

This is a great black pencil skirt– it is so comfortable and stretchy.

I love that the quilted stitching adds a new take to the typical pencil skirt.

Cozy and Comfortable, yet still work wear appropriate. This first look is a great way to pair a cardigan with a pencil skirt. You can relax in the office or switch out the cardigan for a blazer when it’s meeting time! The blouse looks great tucked in, or you can tuck in the front and let the pleated back detailing peak out of the cardigan.

The open mouth/lips is a trend from last fall that we are seeing again for this fall. So I thought the perfect way to edge up a classic pencil skirt is to add this fun graphic tee. I love to wear booties in the fall/winter. They are the perfect completer piece. Of course it is fall so I added my floppy hat!
